US, Mexico, Costa Rica, Jamaica Plan Largest 2031 Women's World Cup

The United States Soccer Federation, in partnership with Mexico, Costa Rica, and Jamaica, has announced a joint bid to host the 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be the first to feature 48 teams and the first to be hosted by four nations. This bid, which is uncontested, aims to deliver the largest and most impactful Women’s World Cup in history, with a focus on equality in facilities, travel accommodations, and support, mirroring the men’s World Cup standards. The tournament is expected to inspire a new generation of fans and players, driving lasting progress for women’s soccer across North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. This will mark the third time the U.S. has hosted the Women’s World Cup, while Mexico, Costa Rica, and Jamaica would host the women’s tournament for the first time. The official bid will be submitted to FIFA in November, with a final decision expected at the FIFA Congress in Vancouver in April 2026. The bid has strong support from CONCACAF and FIFA leadership, emphasizing a legacy that extends beyond the event itself to set a new global standard for women’s soccer.
