Dannen, Long Join CFP Selection Committee for 2025

The College Football Playoff Management Committee has named Nebraska athletic director Troy Dannen and veteran college administrator Jeff Long to the CFP Selection Committee ahead of the 2025 season. Dannen, who replaces Damon Evans (now at SMU), brings substantial experience from previous NCAA and FCS committee roles and has been key in governance reforms. Long, a former AD at Kansas, Arkansas, and Pittsburgh and the committee's first chairman (2014-15), returns for a one-year term, replacing Steve Weiberg. Both appointees offer significant institutional knowledge and leadership. The CFP Selection Committee is responsible for ranking the top 25 teams and determining the 12-team playoff field under the expanded format. These appointments are expected to strengthen the committee as college football's playoff structure evolves.
