Sea Sky Air Show in Jacksonville Adjusts to Government Shutdown without Blue Angels

The 2025 Sea & Sky Air Show in Jacksonville Beach proceeded despite the absence of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the U.S. Air Force Viper Demo Team, who pulled out due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. The City of Jacksonville announced the cancellation of these military performances less than 24 hours before the event, replacing them with civilian acts including The Chuters, a veteran-owned parachute team. Winds also forced the show to end early, preventing the parachute team from performing at the finale. Despite these setbacks, local attendees expressed appreciation for the show, highlighting the skill of the civilian performers and the event's role in honoring military service members. Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan emphasized the community spirit and excitement surrounding the event, which included additional attractions like a Kids Zone and VIP experiences.
