Police Launch Urgent Manhunt After Racially Aggravated Walsall Rape

West Midlands Police have launched an urgent manhunt after a woman in her 20s was raped and assaulted at a property in the Park Hall area of Walsall on Saturday evening; the attack is being treated as racially aggravated. Officers released CCTV of a white man in his 30s with short hair seen wearing dark clothing and have asked the public to check dashcam and CCTV footage and contact police with information. Detective Superintendent Ronan Tyrer said specialist officers are recovering evidence and building a profile to bring the suspect into custody as soon as possible. Local community groups have said the victim may be of Punjabi/Indian heritage and voiced alarm following a recent racially aggravated rape of a Sikh woman in nearby Oldbury, though police are not linking the incidents at this stage.
