St. Charles fire critically injures 2-year-old, two sisters hospitalized

A fire broke out at the Sunnydale Mobile Home Park in St. Charles, where a mother and her two young daughters were involved. The mother and one daughter, estimated to be about 4 or 5 years old, escaped the fire on their own and the older child was treated for minor smoke inhalation. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and were informed that the 2-year-old daughter was still inside; they rescued her and she was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
