Two Deny Kidnap Murder Charges in 2019 Birmingham Case

Two individuals, Kye Arthur from Bristol and Sandra Kozlowska from Liverpool, have appeared in court denying involvement in the alleged kidnap and murder of Tomasz Samel, who was taken from his Birmingham home in 2019 and died months later from severe burns. Mr. Samel was abducted in a white van and later suffered 75% burns, ultimately dying in a specialist burns unit in Liverpool. Arthur has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges including murder, manslaughter, conspiracy to kidnap, and grievous bodily harm, and was denied bail. Kozlowska denies assisting an offender and was released on bail with conditions. Her husband, Tobiasz Kozlowski, also charged in connection with the case, did not appear in court as scheduled and is set to be arraigned in January, with a trial provisionally planned for June. The case continues as authorities pursue justice for the 2019 incident that spanned several regions in the UK.
