Matthew Modine Completes Filming Documentary on Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket

A new documentary titled "A Modern Art Masterpiece: The Untold Story of Full Metal Jacket" explores the making of Stanley Kubrick's iconic Vietnam War film, Full Metal Jacket. Produced by Matthew Modine, one of the film's stars, and directed by Stephen Rigg, the documentary features over 30 interviews with cast members including Modine, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Arliss Howard, as well as previously unreleased audio of Kubrick rehearsing with actors. The film offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at the drama and challenges of the production, revealing intimate details of Kubrick's creative process during the 1980s. Richly illustrated with archival materials such as candid photographs and Kubrick's own audio recordings, it aims to dispel myths surrounding the making of the film and provide an immersive experience of the set atmosphere. The documentary has completed filming in London, New York, and Los Angeles and includes contributions from several executive producers in both the US and UK.
