Glastonbury Abbey Yard opens April 10 after major renovation

The Glastonbury Abbey Yard is set to officially open to the public on April 10, featuring a revitalized entrance, café, and gift shop, enhancing the visitor experience at one of Somerset's historic sites. This multi-million pound renovation is part of the town's Town Deal initiative, aimed at boosting local heritage and economy. Visitors will have free access to the 16th-century St. Patrick’s Chapel and an open-air meeting space designed to strengthen the connection between the abbey and the community. Key representatives from the Glastonbury Town Deal Board and The National Lottery Heritage Fund will attend the official launch, celebrating the transformation of the site. The Abbey Yard is expected to serve as a gateway for visitors to learn about Glastonbury's rich history and cultural significance.
