Multiple Arrests After High-Speed Police Chases Nationwide
Law enforcement across the U.S. reported a wave of high-speed pursuits this week that produced multiple arrests on charges including fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest, drug trafficking, weapons offenses and homicide investigations. In Marshfield, Mo., Logan Hall was arrested after a domestic-violence call, a vehicle pursuit and a crash and faces third-degree domestic assault and resisting arrest; in Boise, 19-year-old Nathan Thornton was booked after a PIT stop and charged with felony fleeing and eluding and marijuana possession. In Rogers County, deputies ended a 100-mph chase and arrested David Dugre after finding him hiding in woods and recovering more than two ounces of meth; he faces eluding and trafficking-related charges and had active warrants. Other pursuits led to the arrest of Benjamin Mann after a multi-county North Carolina chase and Ronnie Feagin in Dorchester County following a nearly 30-minute pursuit that resulted in meth- and vehicle-related charges. Separate incidents included two San Antonio teens arrested after allegedly pointing and firing at officers in a stolen vehicle and two more arrested after a downtown double shooting that left one man dead, Charleston deputies arresting two men after a street-racing pursuit that produced a modified firearm capable of automatic fire, Austin arrests in the murder of Mary Gonzales (one subject facing an immigration detainer and another to be extradited), and two men detained in Salem after early-morning gunfire.
