I-70 Multi-Semi Fire Near Denver; I-43 Rollover

A rollover on southbound I-43 in downtown Milwaukee near Highland Avenue shut multiple lanes Sunday afternoon after a vehicle rolled onto its side. Separately, a multi-semi crash closed both directions of I-70 near the E-470 interchange and East Colfax in metro Denver/Aurora Friday morning after large fires produced a visible black plume. Reports varied on whether two or three semis were involved; at least one trailer tipped and spilled plastic cargo that spread flames across the roadway and median, and firefighters contained the blaze by about 9:25 a.m. Troopers charged the Volvo semi driver with careless driving, two heavy tows were summoned for recovery, and by late afternoon all but one westbound lane had reopened as cleanup continued. No injuries were reported in the I-70 crash, and multiple agencies responded to the scene.
