Two Men Killed, Driver Charged with DUI After Wethersfield Rollover Crash

A rollover crash on Route 5/15 North in Wethersfield resulted in the deaths of two men, Joshua Gonzalez and Edwin Guzman, who were passengers in an Infiniti G37. The vehicle, driven by Alexis Garcia of Springfield, Massachusetts, veered from the left lane, hit a guardrail, rolled over, and went down a steep embankment. Emergency crews rescued the two injured passengers from the woods, but they later died at Hartford Hospital. Garcia, 22, suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment but was suspected of driving under the influence, failing a standardized field sobriety test. He was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs, held on a $250,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have requested anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact them.
