Fatal Head-On Crash on Corridor G in WV

A northbound vehicle crossed the median and struck a southbound Mullen Heating and Cooling box truck on Corridor G near Childress Road in South Charleston around 9:42–10 a.m., causing the truck to overturn. Police later identified the passenger-vehicle driver as 38-year-old Charles Frye of Branchland, who was pronounced dead at the scene; the box truck driver was hospitalized with life‑threatening injuries. Southbound lanes were temporarily closed with detours via Willow/Childress Road while South Charleston and Charleston fire departments, police and EMS investigated and cleared the scene. Photos from the scene showed a severely damaged passenger car and the overturned box truck. Authorities continue investigating the crash.
