Severe Storms Cause Damage, Power Outages Across East Texas, Western Pa., Rochester, Ohio

Severe storms swept across several regions of the eastern United States, causing extensive damage, power outages, and hazardous conditions. In East Texas, residents faced strong winds, heavy rain, and palm-sized hail, prompting flood warnings and travel advisories. Western New York experienced pea-sized hail, toppled trees, and downpours that led to thousands of power outages, though no tornadoes were reported. The Miami Valley in Ohio saw strong winds that downed trees and power lines, damaged homes and vehicles, and left thousands without power; fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. In western Pennsylvania, storms produced wind gusts exceeding 70 mph, toppled entire trees, snapped power lines, and resulted in more than 170,000 power outages in Allegheny County alone.
