Texans Draft OL Aireontae Ersery 48th Overall
The Houston Texans traded up in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft to select Minnesota offensive tackle Aireontae Ersery with the 48th overall pick, exchanging their 58th and 99th picks with the Las Vegas Raiders. Ersery, a three-year starter at left tackle for Minnesota, was recognized as a third-team All-American and the Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year. During his college career, he started 38 consecutive games and allowed very few sacks or quarterback hits, earning high marks for his performance. His selection continues a strong draft tradition for Minnesota offensive linemen and marks the third Gopher lineman drafted in the past four years. Ersery is expected to compete for a starting spot on the Texans' offensive line, possibly as early as 2025. Analysts praise his size and power but note potential for position flexibility along the line.
