Sting Returns to Aid Darby Allin at WrestleDream

AEW’s WrestleDream 2025 in St. Louis featured a dramatic main-event “I Quit” match in which Darby Allin defeated Jon Moxley after a surprise return by wrestling legend Sting. Sting smashed an aquarium, cleared members of the Death Riders, tossed his bat to Allin and helped set up the Scorpion Deathlock that forced Moxley to quit. A planned Golden Lovers reunion of Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi vs. Mark Davis and Josh Alexander was canceled after Ibushi suffered an injury, though Omega, Davis and Alexander still appeared when the Don Callis Family attacked Jurassic Express. AEW president Tony Khan said Sting’s appearance had been discussed in advance and that Sting remains part of the AEW family. Marina Shafir publicly criticized Sting’s involvement on social media.
