GIFT Nifty Achieves Record $100.93 Billion Monthly Turnover in April

India's GIFT Nifty hit a new all-time high monthly turnover of $100.93 billion in April, surpassing its previous record set in September 2024. This milestone demonstrates sustained global interest and growing investor confidence in GIFT Nifty as a key benchmark for India’s financial growth. The NSE International Exchange (IX), which operates GIFT Nifty, attributed the achievement to strong participant support and highlighted its dominant market position within GIFT IFSC. Since its launch, GIFT Nifty has recorded a cumulative turnover of $1.83 trillion and over 41 million contracts traded by April 2025. Broader market indicators also showed growth, with the market capitalization of NSE-listed companies rising to $4.81 trillion in FY25 and unique investor registrations increasing significantly. Annual data further confirmed a rise in individual investor participation across cash and derivatives markets.
