Texas Woman Sentenced for Meth Trafficking
Linnette Rodriguez-Potter, a 46-year-old woman from Arlington, Texas, has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for her involvement in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy, which included the importation of 3.422 kilograms of 100% pure methamphetamine. She was apprehended on July 25, 2020, at the Del Rio Port of Entry, where Customs and Border Protection officers discovered the drugs hidden in her vehicle. Rodriguez-Potter had communicated with co-conspirator Sally Renae Smith about delivering the drugs to a Del Rio motel for distribution across Texas. Smith received a 24-year sentence earlier this year, while another co-defendant is scheduled for sentencing in 2025. In unrelated cases in Pakistan, a female drug peddler named Beenish was sentenced to 14 years for selling narcotics near schools, and another man received a nine-year sentence for hashish possession. These cases reflect ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and enhance community safety in both regions.
