Disney Unveils Disneyland Abu Dhabi on Yas Island

Disney has announced plans for Disneyland Abu Dhabi, its first theme park and resort in the Middle East and seventh worldwide, to be built on Yas Island in partnership with Emirati developer Miral. Miral will fully fund and develop the project, while Disney provides creative direction through its Imagineering division and earns royalties without capital investment or ownership. The park will blend Disney's storytelling with Abu Dhabi's cultural heritage, modern architecture, and advanced technology, featuring immersive attractions, themed accommodations, and unique dining. Design is expected to take two years, followed by five years of construction, although no official opening date has been announced. The strategic Yas Island location targets visitors from the Middle East, Africa, India, and Europe. The project aligns with Disney's broader international growth strategy and was announced alongside strong quarterly earnings.
