Wendy, Eddie Osefo Indicted; Defense Seeks Dismissal

Real Housewives of Potomac star Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie Osefo, were indicted and arrested Oct. 9 in Westminster, Maryland, on multiple counts including insurance fraud, conspiracy and making false statements—reports say Wendy faces roughly 16 counts (about seven felonies) and Eddie faces more than a dozen charges. Prosecutors say the case stems from an April 2024 burglary report in which the couple claimed designer bags, jewelry and other items were stolen while they were vacationing in Jamaica, but investigators point to security footage, an inactive ADT alarm, a social-media post showing a ring and recovered items in the home as inconsistent with that account. Both were released after each posted $50,000 bond (a combined $100,000). On Oct. 17 Wendy’s lawyers filed motions seeking dismissal and suppression of evidence they say was obtained through an unlawful arrest, search or interception of communications, and asked the court to exclude admissions or confessions, sever Wendy’s trial from Eddie’s, and compel full discovery from prosecutors. Eddie had not publicly listed counsel at the time of the filings, and the matter remains pending in Maryland courts.
