Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley, famed for their roles in the 1990s British sitcom Absolutely Fabulous, are reuniting on screen for a Christmas special of the BBC comedy Amandaland, a spin-off of Motherland. Saunders will portray Joan, Felicity's (Lumley) sister, a character described as a lively and upper-class contrast to Felicity. This marks their first scripted reunion since the 2016 Absolutely Fabulous movie. Amandaland follows Amanda, played by Lucy Punch, as she adjusts to life in South Harlesden after her divorce, with the series having garnered strong viewership and critical acclaim. The Christmas special is set to air on BBC One and iPlayer in December, preceding the second series debuting in 2026.
