Killeen Woman Critically Injured in DWI Incident

A woman is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Killeen, Texas, early Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 2:48 a.m. near Central Texas Expressway and Weldon Way, where police found the pedestrian lying in the roadway. The driver, a 29-year-old woman, was arrested at the scene for Driving While Intoxicated and having outstanding warrants. Preliminary investigations indicate that a blue Kia two-door car struck the pedestrian, who was reportedly standing in the outside lane. The driver reportedly stopped and called 9-1-1 to report the incident. The Killeen Police Department's Traffic Unit is continuing the investigation into the crash.
