Sabrina Cohen-Hatton named first female Chief Fire Officer in Hampshire

Sabrina Cohen-Hatton has been appointed as the first female Chief Fire Officer of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and will assume the role later this year following a handover with outgoing chief Neil Odin. Previously the chief of West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, Cohen-Hatton has also held senior positions within the London Fire Brigade and Surrey Fire and Rescue Service. Her appointment has been widely praised, with leaders highlighting her strong leadership skills, experience, and commitment to public safety. Cohen-Hatton, who overcame homelessness as a teenager before joining the fire service at 18, has received several honors, including the King’s Fire Service Medal for distinguished service and gallantry.
