Allentown, Abilene ISD Name New School Leaders

Abilene ISD has named Ashley West as the new principal of Craig Middle School, with her tenure set to begin at the start of the 2025-26 school year. West, currently Dean of Instruction at Cooper High School, brings 14 years of secondary education experience, including roles as a math and engineering teacher and as district-level Secondary Mathematics Coordinator. Superintendent Dr. John Kuhn praised West as a student-centered leader with a strong track record in strengthening instruction and driving student achievement. West expressed her enthusiasm for joining the Craig Middle School community and her commitment to building on its existing strengths. She succeeds Deb Stewart, who is relocating out of state. West was recently named the Region 14 Assistant Principal of the Year by the Texas Association of Secondary Principals.
