South Carolina Bus Crash: Injured Students Released
All students injured in the Chester County, South Carolina, school bus crash have now been released from the hospital, according to officials. The crash occurred when a tire blew on one of three buses carrying Pine Ridge Middle School students back from a field trip, causing the bus to strike a guardrail and overturn. Thirteen-year-old Jose Maria Gonzales Linares, an eighth-grader, was killed in the accident, and funeral arrangements for him have been announced. The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash. Governor Henry McMaster and school officials have offered condolences and support to the affected families and community. The two other buses in the caravan were not involved in the crash.
