Clooneys Host 2025 Albies Honoring Human Rights Defenders

The Clooney Foundation for Justice held its 2025 Albies at the Natural History Museum in London, the fourth annual gala named for anti-apartheid Justice Albie Sachs to honor defenders of justice. Co-founded and hosted by George and Amal Clooney, the event spotlighted the foundation’s work providing pro bono legal aid and human-rights defense in more than 40 countries. This year’s honorees included Gambian women’s and girls’ rights activist Fatou Baldeh, Guatemalan journalist José Rubén Zamora, American editor Marty Baron, philanthropist Melinda French Gates, and Darren Walker, who received a lifetime achievement award. The arrival carpet featured Amal Clooney in a chocolate-brown Atelier Versace gown and George Clooney in a classic tuxedo, alongside other celebrity attendees. Beyond the glamour, the Albies reinforced the foundation’s mission to spotlight individuals and groups who risk their lives fighting for justice worldwide.
