Wichita Woman Pleads Guilty In Fatal DUI Crash Killing Teen
Trisha Greer, a Wichita woman, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in connection with a May 2024 crash that killed 18-year-old Bethany Leggio. The fatal incident occurred when Greer was driving without headlights and under the influence, striking Leggio who was attending a memorial for a teen who had died in an illegal street race. Initially pleading not guilty, Greer changed her plea during a motions hearing and now faces a potential prison sentence ranging from 38 to 172 months, along with post-release supervision and a significant fine. Prosecutors have recommended a 42-month sentence. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 9, 2025. Greer was booked into jail following the crash but met bond requirements and is not currently in custody.
