Georgia Tech, Iowa Meet in NCAA Women's Tennis Championship Opener
The 2025 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship team tournament will be held in May at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas, with 64 teams competing in the first round of regionals. Georgia, Texas A&M, Michigan, and Ohio State are the tournament's top seeds, while regional competition will see Georgia Tech face Iowa in Athens, Georgia. Georgia Tech returns to the championship aiming to advance past the first round, having reached the ACC Championship quarterfinals recently, while Iowa makes its first NCAA appearance since 2010. The winner of the Georgia Tech-Iowa match will face either Florida A&M or top-seeded Georgia. This season, women's singles and doubles championships were held in the fall as part of a pilot program, with the team event in the spring. Texas A&M is the defending national champion, having secured its first title in 2024.
