Man Fatally Shot After Long Beach Bar Altercation, Suspect Flees

A man was fatally shot early Saturday morning in the 100 block of La Verne Avenue in Long Beach after an altercation that began inside a local bar and continued outside. Police responded around 1:39 a.m. to reports of gunfire and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds; despite medical aid, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect reportedly fled the area in a vehicle and remains at large, with authorities investigating the motive and circumstances. The identity of the victim has not been released pending next of kin notification.
