Netflix Debuts 'Bullet Train Explosion' Reboot Trailer

Shinji Higuchi, known for 'Shin Godzilla', directs 'Bullet Train Explosion', set to premiere on Netflix on April 23. This thriller is a modern remake of the 1975 film 'The Bullet Train', which inspired 'Speed', and involves a bomb on a Shinkansen that will explode if the train slows below 100 km/h. The plot unfolds as the train's crew and passengers, including a conductor played by Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, a politician, and a YouTuber, race against time to meet a ransom demand of 100 billion yen. The film features a diverse cast and benefits from special cooperation with East Japan Railway Company, using real bullet trains for authenticity. 'Bullet Train Explosion' is part of Netflix's growing lineup of Japanese live-action content for 2024, which also includes 'Last Samurai Standing' and 'Alice in Borderland' Season 3.
