Suspects Charged in Maryland Domestic Violence Homicides

Prince George's County, Maryland, has seen a series of domestic-related homicides involving women killed by their partners in recent days. In Suitland, 36-year-old Neri Moreno Gratini was fatally shot in her home, and the suspected shooter was later found in his SUV with a life-threatening self-inflicted gunshot wound; police recovered a firearm at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing. In a separate incident, 44-year-old Sherron Turner’s body was discovered wrapped in plastic and partially encased in concrete inside her apartment, and her boyfriend, Michael McClanahan, has been charged with her murder and with attempting to dispose of her body. McClanahan was arrested in Washington, D.C., a day after Turner’s body was found, following an alleged stabbing at a Walmart, and he awaits extradition to Maryland.
