Rangers Recall Brennan Othmann After Rempe Injured Fighting Reaves

Matt Rempe suffered an upper-body injury after fighting Ryan Reaves in Thursday’s 6-5 overtime loss and is being evaluated, removing him from the lineup as the Rangers begin a four-game road trip. In response, New York recalled 22-year-old Brennan Othmann from AHL Hartford to provide depth and a potential replacement. Coach Mike Sullivan called Rempe’s absence “a tough loss” and said Othmann must show attention to detail, reliable defensive play and consistency away from the puck to earn a role.
