Oklahoma's Landry, Pickering Named Finalists for USA Softball Player of Year

The list of 25 finalists for the 2025 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year includes standout performers from several top college softball programs. Oklahoma's Sam Landry and Kasidi Pickering made the list, with Landry excelling as a pitcher with a 1.95 ERA and Pickering leading the team with a .431 batting average and 13 home runs. Indiana’s Taylor Minnick, batting .504 and setting new program records for doubles and RBIs, is also a finalist. Ohio State’s Jasmyn Burns, who leads her team with a .476 average, 22 home runs, and 69 RBIs, is among four true sophomores recognized. The list will be narrowed down to 10 on May 14, then three on May 19, with the winner announced prior to the Women’s College World Series in late May.
