IDF airstrikes kill Hamas commanders in Rafah, Deir al-Balah

Hamas claimed responsibility for killing and wounding Israeli soldiers during an operation in Rafah, targeting an infiltrating special forces unit with an explosive device. In response, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) conducted an airstrike in Deir al-Balah, killing a Hamas sniper cell deputy commander, with reports indicating that seven individuals died in the attack. Additionally, the IDF reported ongoing military operations in Rafah, resulting in the deaths of Hamas operatives and the destruction of infrastructure used by the group. Hamas expressed willingness to negotiate a ceasefire that ensures a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces and addresses the humanitarian situation in Gaza. A Hamas delegation is currently in Cairo for discussions with mediators from Egypt and Qatar regarding a potential agreement to halt the violence.
