Missouri Tops K-State 100-91 in Season-Opening Men's Basketball Exhibition
Kansas State University's men's basketball team opened their 2025-26 exhibition season with a 100-91 loss to Missouri in Columbia. Despite the defeat, K-State showed promising offensive capabilities, led by junior PJ Haggerty who scored 23 points and provided 6 assists, and senior Nate Johnson with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Missouri capitalized on strong defense and rebounding, scoring 54 points in the paint and 29 on fast breaks, while shooting 55% from the field and making 26 of 34 free throws. K-State struggled with defense and fouling, committing 23 fouls and allowing Missouri multiple second-chance points from offensive rebounds. The game was the first exhibition meeting between these historic rivals since their conference rivalry ended in 2012, with K-State holding a dominant historical record against Missouri. The Wildcats will aim to improve their defense as they continue their exhibition schedule, including a game against Newman University.
