Man Fatally Shot Near Wichita Youth Games

A 32-year-old man was fatally shot Thursday evening at Dr. Glen Dey (Glen Day) Park in north Wichita during youth football games that drew roughly 200–300 people. An off‑duty Wichita police detective working security heard gunfire, found the victim near a parking area about 7:03 p.m., provided life‑saving measures until EMS arrived, and the victim was pronounced dead at a hospital at 7:29 p.m. Some outlets have identified the victim as Travon Stewart, while others say the name has not been released.
