Meta AI App Adds Voice, Image, Paid Features
Meta has launched a standalone Meta AI app for iOS, Android, and web, powered by the Llama 4 model, aimed at competing with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini. The app offers both text and voice interactions, advanced image generation and editing, and a Discover feed for sharing and exploring AI-generated content. Personalized experiences are available through integration with users' Facebook and Instagram data, if permitted. The app works with Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses, supporting live translation and cross-device conversations. New voice features, such as full-duplex speech, are currently available in select regions including the US, Canada, and Australia. Meta is also testing a paid subscription for enhanced AI features, but does not expect meaningful revenue from it until next year.
