13 Shot, 2 Dead in Robeson County Shooting
A mass shooting at a large party on Dixon Drive near McGirt Gin Road just outside Maxton in Robeson County, North Carolina, early Saturday left at least two people dead and a total of 13 people shot, officials said. Several of the wounded are in critical condition, and authorities have not released victims’ identities. More than 150 people fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, and deputies say the incident appears to be isolated with no current threat to the community. Multiple agencies are investigating, led by the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office under Sheriff Burnis Wilkins; there have been no arrests and no suspect information released. Officials are asking anyone with information or who was at the scene to contact sheriff’s investigators at 910-671-3100 or via email at sheriff.wilkins@robesoncountysonc.gov.
