Two Men Arrested After Stolen Gun Shot Fired Near Newport on Levee

Two men, Devonta Pettis, 18, and Jamal Fields, 20, were arrested following a shooting incident near Newport on the Levee in Kentucky, where a gunshot was fired into the air likely to cause public alarm. The suspects were in a stolen black Ford Fusion which crashed into three vehicles while attempting to flee the scene. Four men were in the car, but only Pettis and Fields were apprehended after fleeing on foot into the Levee parking garage, with two others still at large. Police recovered a stolen .40 caliber handgun and shell casing, and charges against Pettis and Fields include conspiracy to receive stolen property, possession of a stolen handgun, and fleeing and evading police. No injuries or property damage were reported from the gunfire, and the stolen vehicle was reported from Cincinnati. The case remains under investigation as police seek the other suspects involved.
