Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Coach Arrested for Shooting in South Carolina

Dia'Mond Johnson, a 27-year-old non-faculty member coach with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS), was arrested in York County, South Carolina, for allegedly shooting into an occupied home in southwest Charlotte. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department stated that the shooting did not occur on school property and involved no students, teachers, or school facilities. Johnson faces two counts of shooting into occupied property and is awaiting extradition to Mecklenburg County.
