Severe Storms, Tornado Risk Across U.S. Regions
A significant severe weather threat spans much of the U.S. this weekend, with the Midwest, Mid-South, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic regions all at risk. The Midwest faces the potential for tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds, with a tornado watch issued for much of Minnesota, including the Twin Cities, as storms move eastward overnight. The Memphis and Mid-South region is under a Level 3 out of 5 severe weather threat Friday evening, with strong winds and hail expected. Maryland and Virginia are forecast to experience scattered strong to severe thunderstorms on both Friday and Saturday, including heavy downpours, hail, and isolated tornadoes. New England will also see unsettled weather with strong storms, damaging winds, and hail possible Friday and Saturday, while North Dakota faces severe storms, wild temperature changes, and a tornado risk. Residents in affected areas are urged to monitor updates and be prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions.
