Georgia Deputy Killed, Another Critical After Traffic Stop Shooting

A traffic stop in Columbia County, Georgia, turned deadly when James Blake Montgomery, initially cooperative, opened fire on deputies as they attempted to serve him with a temporary protective order. Deputy Brandon Sikes was killed, and Deputy Gavin White was critically injured after being shot in the face; White remains hospitalized and faces a long recovery. Montgomery used a 9mm AR pistol converted to an automatic weapon and was later found dead inside the motor home after deputies returned fire.
