Three Deadly Teen Crashes in Minnesota, California, Texas

Three separate deadly crashes involving teenagers were reported this week in Minnesota, California and Texas. In Chisago County, Minn., an early Saturday two-vehicle crash near Stacy Trail and Ivywood Trail involving a 2014 Toyota Camry and a 2000 Toyota 4-Runner killed a 15-year-old and injured four other juveniles; authorities reported alcohol at the scene, the drivers were ages 14 and 17, the Lakes Area Police Department is leading the investigation and the State Patrol will reconstruct the crash while identities are being withheld pending family notification. In La Quinta, Calif., two juveniles riding bicycles were struck on Highway 111 on Oct. 10; one died weeks later and has been identified locally as Liam Cantu, and 47-year-old Jose Villegasorbe of Palm Springs was detained and faces charges including vehicular manslaughter, DUI, hit-and-run and a probation violation as investigators seek tips. In Donna, Texas, a two-vehicle crash on Expressway 83 involving a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze killed 16-year-old Colin Feltis, hospitalized multiple people, and South Texas ISD has provided counseling for students and staff.
