Eichel, Kopitar, Point Named Lady Byng Finalists
Jack Eichel of the Vegas Golden Knights, Anze Kopitar of the Los Angeles Kings, and Brayden Point of the Tampa Bay Lightning have been named finalists for the 2024-25 Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, which honors NHL players who combine exemplary sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct with high-level performance. Eichel, a first-time finalist, set a career high and Golden Knights franchise record with 94 points while accumulating minimal penalty minutes. Kopitar seeks his third Lady Byng, having previously won in 2016 and 2023, and recorded only four penalty minutes this season alongside 67 points. Point, in his second nomination, notched 42 goals and 82 points with only seven penalty minutes, leading the NHL in shooting percentage and maintaining a streak of three consecutive 40-goal, 80-point seasons. The winners are chosen by members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association at the conclusion of the regular season. Each nominee exemplified both elite play and outstanding sportsmanship, distinguishing themselves among the league’s top performers.
