Malcolm Wilson Nominated for FIA Deputy President
Malcolm Wilson, a prominent British rally driver and founder of M-Sport, has been nominated by FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem for the role of Deputy President for Sport following Robert Reid's resignation. Reid stepped down citing a 'fundamental breakdown in governance standards' and expressed concerns over the FIA's decision-making processes. Wilson, who was awarded an OBE in 2009, has led M-Sport since its founding and guided Ford to multiple World Rally Championship titles. His nomination will be voted on by FIA members during the Extraordinary General Assemblies in Macau this June. Wilson expressed honor at the nomination and pledged to support Ben Sulayem and the FIA's growth and innovation efforts. The Deputy President for Sport is responsible for shaping global motorsport policy, including safety and sustainability initiatives.
