1 Dead, 1 Injured in Sutter County Head-On Crash

A fatal head-on collision occurred Sunday morning in Sutter County when a 60-year-old woman from Linda, driving a Chevrolet Aveo northbound on Live Oak Boulevard, crossed into the southbound lane to illegally pass traffic and struck a Toyota Prius. The driver of the Chevrolet died at the scene, while the 51-year-old driver of the Prius, identified as Zanika Bannerman, sustained major injuries and was hospitalized. The crash, which happened around 9:50 a.m. just south of Rednall Road, remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. Authorities have identified the deceased as Brenda Pruitt. No further details about contributing factors or additional vehicles have been reported at this time.
