MARI Buys TodayTix From Great Hill

News summary

MARI, the global events company launched by Ari Emanuel, has acquired TodayTix Group from private equity firm Great Hill Partners for an undisclosed sum. TodayTix — founded in 2013 and operating brands including TodayTix, Secret Cinema, LondonTheatre and Show-Score — serves more than 20 million members across the U.S., U.K. and Australia and partners with over 10,000 theatres, producers and cultural institutions. Emanuel said the acquisition provides a “technology engine” and direct line to audiences that will help MARI “redefine the event lifecycle,” adding theatre and immersive performance to its portfolio alongside assets such as the Miami and Madrid Opens, Frieze and Barrett-Jackson. Brian Fenty, TodayTix’s co-founder and CEO, will remain in place and join MARI’s executive leadership team, while co-founder Merritt Baer will continue as artistic director and producer at Secret Cinema. Both Emanuel and Fenty said the deal will allow deployment of purpose-built technology and AI to expand access to culture, elevate user experience and empower creators. Legal and financial advisers on the transaction included Akin Gump for MARI, Paul Hastings for TodayTix and Great Hill, and Moelis & Company and LionTree as financial advisers.
