Sinner skips Davis Cup, Alcaraz leads Spain in finals

Top-ranked tennis player Jannik Sinner will not participate in the 2025 Davis Cup Finals held in Bologna from November 18-23, with Italy confirming his absence despite him leading the team to victories in recent years. Italian captain Filippo Volandri noted that Sinner has not confirmed his availability and is focusing on individual ATP events, including the ATP Finals in Turin held just prior to the Davis Cup. Italy’s squad will include Matteo Berrettini, Simone Bolelli, Flavio Cobolli, Lorenzo Musetti, and Andrea Vavassori as they aim for a third consecutive Davis Cup title. Spain, led by world number one Carlos Alcaraz, who is also competing in the ATP Finals, will seek their first Davis Cup win since 2019. Additionally, world number three Alexander Zverev will make his Davis Cup Finals debut representing Germany. The competition features eight nations including Italy, Spain, Germany, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, and France.
