HighBall Halloween Draws Thousands in Short North

HighBall Halloween returned to Columbus’ Short North on Oct. 25, 2025 for its 18th year, transforming High Street into a runway and drawing thousands of costumed attendees. The night — billed as the nation’s most elaborate costume party — featured live performances, a vendor bazaar, a public costume contest, and related events including a Friday pre-party and a Sunday recovery brunch. The Costume Couture Fashion Show presented six designers, including 14-year veteran Shiree Houf, and one design team was crowned champion. Organizers offered free general admission alongside ticketed VIP options and introduced new features such as potion patios to boost local business participation and support artisans. Short North Alliance leaders said the event spotlights Columbus’s growing fashion and entrepreneurial scene, and authorities increased special-duty police presence to ensure safety.
