CMAT Postpones October UK Dates Ahead of Surgery
Irish singer CMAT (Ciara Mary‑Alice Thompson) has postponed and will reschedule all her October UK tour dates, including sold‑out Glasgow shows, after waking with a painful infected wisdom tooth that left her unable to sing. She sought emergency dental care, has been prescribed antibiotics, and is booked for surgery next week to remove both lower wisdom teeth, with doctors advising roughly two weeks' recovery plus a short follow‑up period. CMAT apologised to fans, said she "can't even open my mouth wide enough to laugh, let alone sing," asked for ice‑cream and soup recommendations, and confirmed tickets will be valid for rescheduled dates with refunds available for those who cannot attend. Affected shows include dates in London, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle and Glasgow, while some later 2025 dates and international legs have been reported as currently unaffected. The postponement comes during a breakthrough year for CMAT: her third album Euro‑Country has been widely acclaimed, she performed at Glastonbury, and she is among the 2025 Mercury Prize nominees, with the awards scheduled for October 16.
