Maye Leads Patriots 31-13, Strengthens MVP Case
The New England Patriots beat the Tennessee Titans 31-13 in Week 7 for their fourth straight win, improving to 5-2 as Drake Maye again led the way. Maye completed 21-of-23 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns, added 62 rushing yards, set a franchise single-game completion percentage mark and currently leads the league with a 75.2% completion rate and a 116.4 passer rating through seven games. His stretch of play has moved him up NFL MVP power rankings and placed him among league leaders in advanced metrics. Former Patriot Damien Woody called Maye a top-five QB while Cam Newton cautioned that the strength of opponents should temper such claims; Maye downplayed individual praise after the game, lauding coach Mike Vrabel and his teammates and defending rookie receiver Kyle Williams despite Williams’ limited snaps and no catches during the win streak. The Week 7 stat line — two+ passing TDs, two or fewer incompletions and 60+ rushing yards — put Maye in a rare Super Bowl-era club with Lamar Jackson, RG3 and Walter Payton.
